Total Energy based Flight Control System Architecture for a Lift-Plus-Cruise Urban Air Mobility Aircraft

Abstract: This talk deals with the development and optimization of a flight control system for a lift-plus-cruise urban air mobility aircraft that is based on the Total Energy Control System algorithm. The Modular Aircraft Dynamics and Control Algorithm Simulation Platform (MADCASP) framework is used to implement the aircraft simulation model and the flight control laws, whose parameters are then optimized. Maneuver simulations are analyzed to assess the behavior of the flight control system in preparation for subsequent piloted simulations. Part two of a three part series.
